I can think of only a few things that I love more than hanging out with bloggers. They include:
1. Cheetos. Even the allure of meeting fellow oversharers pales in comparison to the radioactive goodness of dried cheese dust.
2. Target during the SuperBowl. While the rest of the world was watching football yesterday, I was at Target. Rows upon rows of up&up and Circo and Archer Farms and Threshold bargains were mine – all mine – and nary a soul was there to deal-block me. I felt like Kevin McCallister when he ordered the giant cheese pizza and ate it all by himself, believing that he had willed the disappearance of his family. Top that, blogging convention with free bleach tabs and toilet paper samples.
3. The melodious sound of “Yes, mother” coming from my child’s mouth. While I love meeting other bloggers who heap praise on my ability to write eloquently about poop and my memories of sex ed, there is nothing that brings me greater joy than my toddler joyfully assenting to my requests. Perhaps that is because it so rarely happens. #MyToddlerMightKillMe #WellMaybeNotMeButAtLeastMyWill

Upon being told to remove one pacifier from her mouth, Cee promptly inserted another, thus eliciting I-can’t-evens from both me and my husband.
As you can see, I place meeting bloggers in the highest echelons of Things I Take Immense Pleasure From. I probably could have omitted the whole Cheetos bit because obviously I love them and so do you if you’ve ever tried them, but I really wanted to drive the point home.
Therefore, it is with great excitement that I announce that I’ll be at WordPress’s second-ever Press Publish on April 18 in Phoenix, AZ! And I’m so stoked to meet you!
What’s Press Publish? Why, it’s a great way to meet up with fellow WordPress bloggers, learn a few new things about blogging, and perhaps most importantly, eat artificially-flavored cheese snacks with me in the middle of the desert! Huzzah!
I’ll be giving a talk about my blogging journey (since I’m apparently Oprah all of a sudden), so that should be…interesting. You’ll notice that public speaking is not in the list above, so no promises that I won’t just read off a list of Pop-Tart flavors I believe should exist.*
*I totally won’t do that.**
**Geez, I hope I don’t do that.
Want to join me and a ton of other insanely talented bloggers and Automatticians in Phoenix? Get your tickets now!
Blogging not your thing? Here’s a link to buy Cheetos on Amazon. Do yourself a favor and read the customer reviews. Don’t say I never gave you anything.
Quick! There are only 3 Cheetos left in stock. Better get on that before that guy buys more for his 85 year mom who loves Jimmy Swaggert.
Seriously, I am so excited for you. Obviously well-deserved and I know you are going to knock it out of the park. Even if you do just lost off Pop Tart flavors that should exist…which now I am actually curious about. Wish I could come…you will have to give me your talk via Skype :)
How cool! I hope you’ll Live-Tweet it for those of us who can’t go :D

great plug for the event and great list. Regretfully I don’t think I can attend because I will be in school learning spanish. Have fun, eat a bag of cheetos for me please. The little bag not the big one.
How exciting for you! Just found your blog and love how unique and truly YOU it is. Glad to meet you happy Gal!
The struggle is real when they’re holding a Press Publish in your hometown (in this case, Portland, not Phoenix) and you’re away at college D:
Congrats! This is a huge honor, and well deserved. Plus, your daughter sounds hysterical and sassy and all things amazing. :)

Whoo hoo! I know I keep saying that, but I’m fresh out of new superlatives to describe your awesome climb to world power. Think some up for me, willya?
(wish I could go and rub orange-dusted shoulders with you.)
Have fun, Emily! :D
I discovered the peace of Target on Super Bowl day, I love it. Its the best. So quiet, with empty aisles, open check-out lanes, no one standing in the shampoo aisle with their cart completely blocking the thoroughfare.
