Paying it Forward with UncommonGoods: Cyber Monday Giveaway

So, remember when I went back to work last year and basically became an absentee blogger for a little while? Well, one blog’s loss is humanity’s gain. Through my work at a nonprofit in Memphis, I’ve learned firsthand the value of giving back. We can all do a little – or a lot – to make the world a better place, and that begins with our everyday actions. Most of us won’t have a wing of a children’s hospital named after us, but we can drive the extra mile to the locally-owned grocery store or spare a few hours volunteering on a Saturday morning when we could have been sleeping.

Small gifts yield big rewards. And UncommonGoods gets that.

UncommonGoods is all about making the world a better place for its customers, its employees, and the planet. Since 1999, UncommonGoods has worked with its suppliers – artists and small manufacturers – to ensure their products are made in a more socially and environmentally responsible manner, and it ensures that its employees are paid a living wage and that all full-time and most part-time employees receive health benefits. What’s more, UncommonGoods will donate $1 to the charity you designate at checkout. They’re paying it forward.

Oh, and also, they stuff on the site is freakin’ awesome.

I looooove their stuff! I was just on their site looking for xmas gifts, too. The heart umbrella might be my personal favorite, but it barely rains in LA!

    1. Ha! Maybe you can use it as a parasol :)

I’m giving back at our local Boys & Girls Club. Each year I volunteer to help them make Christmas gifts for their families. It is heartwarming to see the joy on their faces and sense of accomplishment as they create one-of-a-kind gifts for their loved ones!
