Give a Nod to Mod: Under Cherry Tree Giveaway

I don’t do a ton of giveaways because it’s difficult for me to find artists and vendors whose work I love so much that I’m willing to endorse them on what is, essentially, one of the few places where I can be completely myself: my blog. But when I stumbled upon the Etsy shop Under Cherry Tree, I knew I had found an artist who crafts the kind of art that I would make myself if I had the skills. Much to the chagrin of the entire art world, my own artistic abilities are limited to nibbling Pop-Tarts into symmetrical rhomboidal masses. I know you are all clamoring for a one-of-a-kind Emily original, but I eat them all before I can even upload an image of them to eBay. So, sorry, but today you’re just going to have to settle for some real artwork by a real artist.

Sylvi is a mother of two who swung open the doors to her Etsy shop when she was on maternity leave. Her love of bright and sunny colors shines through in her pop art-inspired custom designs. I’m a huge fan of Pop-Tarts pop art myself and we have several Andy Warhol posters around our home. In fact, when C was a baby, we’d get her to sleep by swaying with her in front of our Warhol prints while she gazed at their sharply-contrasting vivid colors.

When I saw how well Sylvi’s designs would go with the bright decor we already have in our home, I knew I had to have one of her pieces for our own. I sent her several photos and she chose the best one to create a custom digital print of C.

I absolutely adore the way it turned out. It represents a special time in her little toddler life, and completely captures her personality in a way that my breakfast pastry sculptures just can’t.

This is a high-quality digital image; I printed both 8″ x 10″s and 5″ x 7″s and both sizes turned out beautifully.

Sylvi’s shop is not limited to her prints and printables (although those are pretty amazing!). She also sells very affordable custom-designed birthday invitations and decorations, wall hangings, and onesies. She will work with you to make sure that your print is exactly what you desire!

I am thrilled today that Sylvi has agreed to make a custom pop art digital print for one of you lucky folks! Trust me, this is one you want in on. Click here to enter the giveaway. The giveaway will end on March 11th at midnight EST so be sure to enter before then. Word to the wise: just by tweeting the giveaway and sharing Sylvi’s Etsy shop on Facebook each day, you increase your odds of winning astronomically.

Good luck!

  1. Ok, these are all so adorable. Any of the Andy Warhol inspired prints are what I’d go for! The hardest part will be picking a photo to use!

  2. So beautiful! I adore it!

  3. C!!! She’ll love that when she gets older, too. :)

  4. CUTE. I would love one of the girls like you have of CeCe. Hey, did you ever get the prize for my giveaway? Do I need to do some more harassing?

    1. I didn’t. Should I email her?

      1. I just wrote Amber for Babies to ask if someone can look into what the heck happened.

  5. Love that picture! I hope I have cool things some day. (I’m sorry for how depressing that sounded.)

  6. That is crazy adorable! And the framing is so cool. Did you do that yourself? with Pop Tarts?

    1. I did the framing myself with the help of Michael’s framing department. And Pop-Tarts. Obvs.

  7. Love it Em! I so love modern influences and these bright colors. And Etsy. Thanks for the recommend.

  8. Oh my gosh! I LOVE that!!! I wonder if she could fit all 3 of my rascals in one….off to enter. :)

    1. I have no doubt that she could :D

  9. AHHHHH! That is epically awesome! Don’t tell my husband, but I think this would be a great Father’s Day present for him to put in his office :)

    1. It TOTALLY would. I honestly had no idea what my husband would think about the print that we had made, but he adored it.

      1. Yay! So that means it’s guy-approved by at least one guy. And one guy with good taste, being married to you ;)

  10. Lovely lively image. Would love this done for my precious grand daughters. Etsy people are awesome….

  11. I have the magic talking stick! I think I’d like this one: http://www.etsy.com/listing/160894143/pop-art-inspired-portrait-for-your-child?ref=shop_home_active_8 (I hope that works), but I like them all!

  12. So cute! Would look great in the kids’ brightly colored bonus room (well, technically there are just cream colored walls due to my lack of decision-making skills about paint colors… But it’s gonna be awesome…)!
