From time to time, Ashley and I will get lazy and not come up with a topic invite you to write whatever you like for Remember That Time, our mothball-scented weekly stroll down memory lane. It turns out that benevolence looks good on us.
And that sometimes we forget until midnight on Sunday night to come up with a topic.
Oops.
On these wild card weeks, your post doesn’t have to fit into a theme we suggest. It might be a good time for you to bring out those uncategorizable stories that are totally specific to your life. I mean, you could wait around for “That Time Your Sister Accidentally Hit On You At a Football Game and Then Your Cat Ate An Entire Jar of Pickles While You Tried To Cut Your Hair Like He-Man” Week, but it may not come up soon.
So tell us your nostalgic stories! Write your posts anytime this week, then check back at Zebra Garden or here on Thursday and Friday to link up with us. If you already have a post that you’ve written recentlyish* that has a back-in-the-day vibe, feel free to link those up with us too. Just grab the badge that Ashley and I will publish on Thursday and stick it at the bottom of your previously-written post.
*Try to keep it within the last month or so.
Also, don’t forget to let us know if you have a great idea for a theme for Remember That Time! We’d love to hear them! Benevolence and all, again.
And laziness.
I’ve missed out on the last couple so I gotta think of something good this time!
I’m sure you will rock it, whatever you come up with ;D
I had a pretty embarrassing moment of hearing old school Starting Line that my girlfriends and I LOVED in high schoolcome on my ipod and I may or may not have begun dancing on the treadmill…does that count as nostalgic? haha
That’ll work! Last week someone wrote about going to see the Monkees as an adult so we are all about flashbacks ;D
What about the title of the blog post…”remember the time you loosened up”. I like it in the literal sense. At least for me, because there are very few times in my life where I have loosened up. :)
I’m glad you caught that! Please tell us about the time she let your hair down ;D
I remember the time when going to Blockbuster was the Friday treat for the weekend. Was so much fun! A beauty shop took our BB place in the shopping center.
Awwww I remember that too. And remember when you used to take us to Mapco on Fridays after school? I always got a Clear Pepsi. Hahaha
I picked the wrong week to get Alzheimer’s.
Can’t you reschedule Alzheimer’s for next week and get a sore knee this week?
Does my current post qualify? I mentioned Tennessee several times…
It certainly does! ;D
Really, I tried not to make it seem like it felt like the entire state of Tennessee was kidnapping my firstborn :) I hold you blameless…
First time seeing this! Love the idea and will absolutely participate!
Awesome! We can’t wait to see your post!
I remember when my children were CHILDREN. Where did the time go?

I wouldn’t want to blow anyone away with my amazing tales of nostalgia, but I do have some theme ideas that might yield some wild and crazy strolls down memory lane. Remember the time when you…
Watched cartoons (I totally miss the Smurfs, Gummy Bears, and Fraggle Rock… minus the creepy trash-dwelling family living outside);
Went to a school dance; played video games (ahhhh Duck Hunt, Frogger, and Asteroids);
Crushed on a tv show actor (and maybe sent a letter to him via Big Bopper only to have your mom find it and ground you for stating you were 15. Purely hypothetical);
When you just had to have a _________________. (Cabbage Patch Doll, Get in Shape Girl set, a second pair of Punky Brooster shoes…
Love them all and will stockpile them away! Thanks, Maggie! ;D
